[So they will just sit here really awkwardly, then. No actually after a little while he finally says]

Where is Thor?

[glaived]

Indeed.

[ no she is going to stay very still. very, very, still. no threatening movements but okay, she's kind of tense. ]

[glaived]

On Midgard.

[ please don't make her explain this, Loki. please. ]

[trickstering]

[He stops when he is sitting close across from her.]

Are you nervous?

[A stupid question, and he says it before he means to, but she's tense and it's making him nervous.]

[trickstering]

Why?

[glaived]

[ damn it. ]

Your father banished him before he fell into the Odinsleep. You are king of Asgard now.

[trickstering]

[This is too confusing, and it feels like a hundred questions come to mind at once and before he can stop them coming spilling from his mouth, too.]

That doesn't make sense - what could he have done and why wouldn't I fix it if I were king? I don't understand.

[and then more quietly]

Thor is supposed to be king.

[glaived]

I... do not know?

[ a wave of her hand, like it's nothing. they've done this before - or rather she had, and aided by a rather large amount of alcohol as well. gods above, no wonder they spent centuries doing nothing.

so instead she just moves into his personal space - hands on his upper thighs. they can do this. ]

[glaived]

I don't either. [ because she doesn't. she doesn't know why Loki doesn't try and fix this mess and bring Thor back to them. ] But it is what it is, and there is nothing you can do as you are.

[ a longer pause. ]

What is supposed to be does not matter. You are king, not he.

[trickstering]

[Her action in spite of her words surprises him. His lips part as he watches her for a moment. Perhaps it is he who is nervous and he is just projecting.

Loki reaches over a puts a hand on her shoulder, and then leans in to kiss her.]

[trickstering]

[He crawls out from underneath the covers and just stares at her, mustering as much judgment as a 200yearold can.]

Those aren't answers.

[glaived]

I learned the art of avoidance from the best.

[ hah!! ]

Thor nearly broke the peace between Jotunheim and Asgard - banishment is his punishment.

[trickstering]

I see.

[somehow that is not surprising, really.]

[glaived]

[ Sif brings up one of her hands to cup his cheek - meeting him halfway before kissing him back. It's much better this way, when they're both sober and she knows what she's doing.

Mostly, however, because she cannot shake the doubt that dwells in her thoughts whenever he occupies her mind. Is this honestly what she wants before ruining it all?

But his mouth is moving against her's at long last - and that is real and tangible enough for her to focus on, shoving all the rest to the side. This is what matters now. ]

[glaived]

He is not alone, though. He has made friends - mortal ones.

[ as if it'll be some comfort to him. ]

[trickstering]

[Much better when they're sober, and he's not pushing her away. He too had wanted this, just not...like that. Now, however, he can savor the moment, the way she is touching him, kissing him back, the way they exist finally together, if even just for this moment.]

[trickstering]

Mortals? How does that even work?

[glaived]

Well once one is banished to Midgard, it only stands that those he'd meet are mortals.

[ gosh Loki. ]

[trickstering]

[he sighs. he's 200, not stupid. whatever he just. won't ask questions and sulk here instead.]

[glaived]

[ The not pushing her away is definitely a bonus in this entire situation. Sif's not quite she what she would have done if he had - something desperate probably. And violent, considering he would have persisted in leading her along - ammo to hang over her when she least wished it.

Eventually, of course, she has to pull away in order to breathe. ]

Better.

[trickstering]

I would hope so.

[glaived]

[ SIGH. ]

Don't sulk.

[trickstering]

You're not being fair, and you're not answering me.

[glaived]

I am not entirely sure if you want to know the answers. Or even should know them.
